The A.P.A. is usually calculated as a percentage of the charter fee, often ranging from 20-30%, depending on the specifics of the charter. This budget is given to the yacht’s captain before the charter commences, allowing the crew to provision the yacht to the charterer’s preferences, covering all the necessary expenses during the trip.

At the end of the charter, the captain will provide a detailed account of all expenditures to the charterer.
